J&T Matcha Bar

J&T Matcha Bar was a small side quest that turned into one of my favourite memories from college.

My friend Janavi and I started it because we loved matcha, but it wasn't something you could easily get on campus. What began as making matcha for ourselves quickly became a tiny matcha outlet run from our hostel room. Our goal wasn't just to sell drinks. We wanted to make matcha approachable, help people experience it for the first time, and show that it didn't have to be a performative wellness trend. It could simply be a refreshing drink that people genuinely enjoyed.

Over time, we introduced a lot of students to matcha, built a community of more than 415+ matcha enthusiasts on campus. Beyond the drinks, J&T Matcha Bar became a way for us to connect with juniors, create small moments of joy, and bring a little more warmth to campus life.

Looking back, it wasn't just about matcha. It was about building something for the fun of it, creating community around a shared interest, and turning our hostel room into a place people looked forward to visiting XD
